We have recently come across a small collection of Dark Star Magazines. For fans of 60’s and 70’s hippie, power pop, folk-rock and country-rock culture, this is still one of the finest British mags of the era (mid 70’s), arguably more focussed and more informative than Zig Zag and the like. Issues include:
Number 6 – Sneaky Pete, Jorma Kaukonen, The Association, Clover, Robert Hunter et al
Number 7 – Poco, Rick Roberts, Grateful Dead et al
Number 11 – Dylan, Beach Boys, Kingfish, Big Star et al
Number 13 – Byrds, John Martyn, Jefferson Airplane, Joan Baez et al
Number 15 – Spirit (a great Randy California interview), Byrds, Muddy Waters et al
Number 17 – Paul Kantner, Grateful Dead, Plainsong, Mamas and Papas et al
If you are interested in any of these magazines (or other mags of the era) please keep an eye on our eBay listings, or drop us a line directly. They are a generally inexpensive gateway to a different era, and a great starting place for any collection.
