This is now SOLD
We are delighted to offer this rare edition of the Times Atlas of the World for sale.
This edition was published by The Times (J.G. Bartholomew, Cartographer to the King) in 1920 with a new plate being issued every week. The bound edition (with an additional gazetteer and index) was not published until 1922.
This copy includes all 112 plates in excellent condition in a rather worn but lovely folder.
I have been in touch with The Times Atlas Company Archivist and they do not know of this particular binding, but it is clearly contemporary and official, with the correct Times lettering on the cover. It is a quarter leather and leather cornered but the leather is very dry but could easily be treated. The binding is some sort of screw binding holding all the plates in place.
Internally there is some age related foxing and spotting to the end papers but all the plates appear to be unmarked.
This is a substantial item (the ruler in the photo is a metal 18 inch ruler)!
Please contact us for any further details (the map is listed on eBay and Amazon).

Both copies have now been SOLD.
We are delighted to offer two copies of this rare book for sale.
The first is a VG/VG copy of the 1st Edition.
The other however is an incredibly rare (I have seen copies signed by Pratt, but never by Detective Chief Inspector Lee) signed copy. This is VG- / VG-, not price clipped and also carries the very rare publishing slip.

Please see our eBay listing for a full description, or drop us a line to discuss a direct sale.
We have a delightful 12 volume soft leather and encased set of GBS’s plays available through eBay. As it has been fully encased the leather is still, amazingly, soft and bright.
There is (as described on eBay) a strange (facsimile?) GBS signature contained within one of the volumes.
Please contact us for any further details.
