We have a customer who is always interested in anything by these (and other) British Audio and artistic pioneers.  They are especially interested in printed ephemera and artwork, but may possibly be tempted by signed, rare or especially collectable LPs, CDs and other audio items.

Please contact us if you have any such items to sell.

coverPlease note that we currently have in stock a brand new copy of David Tibet’s “Some Gnostic Cartoons” published in a signed limited edition of 500 (this copy 190/500) by Isis Editions to tie in with David’s exhibition at the Isis Gallery in Nov 2008 – Jan 2009.  84pp.  Hard back.  Lavishly illustrated with Tibet’s colour plates.

Lakeland Photo Album

lakeland-photo-album-1We stumbled upon this fascinating album in an Antique and Collector’s Fair at Builth Wells a few days ago.

It is a rather uninteresting looking vinyl covered album, but inside, in the most wonderful calligraphic writing is a collection of 14 postcards (dating, I suspect, from the 1950’s or very early 1960’s) which are displayed along with their title (Mossdale, Buttermere, Ullswater etc.), and a small section of poetry.

lakeland-photo-album-22This would be a fascinating gift for the Lakeland collector.  Maybe the new owner might be motivated to complete the album in a similar fashion?  Very modestly price – please contact us for further details.

Dark Star Magazines

Posted on: May 1st, 2009 | No Comments

dark-star-mags1We have recently come across a small collection of Dark Star Magazines.  For fans of 60’s and 70’s hippie, power pop, folk-rock and country-rock culture, this is still one of the finest British mags of the era (mid 70’s), arguably more focussed and more informative than Zig Zag and the like. Issues include:

Number 6 – Sneaky Pete, Jorma Kaukonen, The Association, Clover, Robert Hunter et al

Number 7 – Poco, Rick Roberts, Grateful Dead et al

Number 11 – Dylan, Beach Boys, Kingfish, Big Star et al

Number 13 – Byrds, John Martyn, Jefferson Airplane, Joan Baez et al

Number 15 – Spirit (a great Randy California interview), Byrds, Muddy Waters et al

Number 17 – Paul Kantner, Grateful Dead, Plainsong, Mamas and Papas et al

If you are interested in any of these magazines (or other mags of the era) please keep an eye on our eBay listings, or drop us a line directly.  They are a generally inexpensive gateway to a different era, and a great starting place for any collection.
